Tell me about it.   I made the comment whilst a little under the weather from a bad car , a bad day and an even badder smirnoff.

Just goes to show the impressive advice and support from people on this site of which I'm truly grateful, as I would not have known where to begin.  The last car I serviced was a MK5 Cortina.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, I stuck her up on ramps today with a cloth stuffed up the exhaust.     Wow..  Gasses venting all round the QF supplied CAT
where it joins the rear 2 silencers. (£377.00) Supplied and mis-fitted.

It wasn't even bolted together correctly, so I tightened it all up and went for a long drive.

Lo and behold, it drove with zero problems.  Smooth as a button, whereby it had been juddering violently after only 3 miles previously.

Needless to say, I'm off to QF to get a bloody explanation and complete fix.

For whomever asked, the mileage is now 102,000 and "almost" fully serviced.

I'll definately get the ATF seen to, and most likely an ECU upgrade.

Thanks for all of the excellent advice.
