A bad misfire under load can feel as though the transmission is coming apart. Check plugwells and leads for oil damage.
Our 2.5 really felt as though there was a major transmission problem accelerating at mid RPM. Using sport mode to increase RPM reduced the shuddering, new ht leads cured it.
