Ah OK, well from what I have seen I am not sure what is different with the 3.0 V6 clutch in comparison to the TD clutch? They appear to be the same diameter, and not being much of a clutch buff - I am not sure what other differences there would be? Stronger spring in the pressure plate?

I don't want to bust out a load of money on the wrong thing tbh.

Hmmm, my thoughts exactly ......

I've not heard of any problems with the TD clutch on chipped vehicles, so can someone explain the apparent preference for using the 3.0 V6 assembly?

easy confusion here!!! early cars up to 96 were fitted surprise surprise with a smaller clutch centre plate!!! And many parts places will still supply the older smaller plate for a TD, however the 3 litre one is around 5 or 6 mm bigger but fits into the std Dmf on the diesel and is a good upgrade due to the larger swept volume giving more grip :y
However vauxhall themselves realised this and did in fact superceed the plate number to the 3 litre one!!!
did you follow that easily??? :y

Ahhhh! So Vx are one step ahead for a change!? I think that I shall be getting a full kit, but have found cheaper than Vx - just need to confirm that I am getting the same parts.

Thanks for clarification!
