Land Rover used a 3,946 cc (3.946 L; 240.8 cu in) version of the Rover V8 through the 1990s. Bore was increased to 94.0 mm (3.70 in) and stroke remained the same at 71.0 mm (2.80 in). Revised in 1995 (and thereafter referred to as a 4.0 to differentiate it from the earlier version, although displacement remained the same at 3946 cc) with a new intake and exhaust system, extra block ribbing, revised pistons, and larger cross-bolted main-bearings. The 1995 4.0 produced 190 hp (142 kW) and 236 lb·ft (320 N·m) .

Production of the 4.0 ended in 2001. The final version of the engine, used in the Land Rover Discovery, produced 188 hp (140 kW) at 4750 rpm and 250 lb·ft (340 N·m) at 2600 rpm.

V6 3.0 is 208 bhp
V6 3.2 is 211 bhp

So in theory you are giving away 20bhp before you start

Less power than a 3/0 cam fitted 2.6.

Definately a step the wrong way

190bhp? this ones got eidelbrock inlet manifold-holley4barrel vac/secondarys carb ported heads an typhoon cam rhoads hydraulic lifters an mallory distributor-should make 240ish, company called real steel built3.5 an they claim250@6000. Would 3.0 v6 be easier/cheaper to fit and get 240ish BHP?

Rover V8 into V6 Omega - waste of time.
Standard Woofer 3.5 engine is about what, 160horses tops?
Plus all the extra hassle or re-jigging the A/C etc (if you have it) and wiring nightmare.

Best off with a Griffin 3litre and drop that in to get 200+ horses!

Probably. Don't forget that all Omegas require a cat emissions check if it's to be road legal. That's going to be a problem with a holley carb. You will need an injection setup and catalytic converters. That and all the work fabricating engine & gearbox mounts, exhaust system, propshaft, gear linkage, cooling, PAS and fuel line routing.

This is all done for you already with a V6.

None of this was mentioned originally.

I would still stick with GM and go small block chevy, selling a lump thats been modified might raise more than enough dosh to gain 300+ Bhp from chevy pawer.

But thats just my view.
