Anything's feasable but the Miggy V6 has similar power output. If you're going to do it then keep it GM and go small block Chevy.

can see your point BUT chev small block is a lot heavier. Would make it quite nose heavy.

May be heavier, but can easily be tuned to give twice the power, and with that  or even fitting the V8 rover then you have ro consider chassis strength, prop and back axle, then springs and shocks plus the brakes.   Why bother at all, with the Rower, just do the sums and if you can afford it go the Chevy route.  :y

Land Rover used a 3,946 cc (3.946 L; 240.8 cu in) version of the Rover V8 through the 1990s. Bore was increased to 94.0 mm (3.70 in) and stroke remained the same at 71.0 mm (2.80 in). Revised in 1995 (and thereafter referred to as a 4.0 to differentiate it from the earlier version, although displacement remained the same at 3946 cc) with a new intake and exhaust system, extra block ribbing, revised pistons, and larger cross-bolted main-bearings. The 1995 4.0 produced 190 hp (142 kW) and 236 lb·ft (320 N·m) .

Production of the 4.0 ended in 2001. The final version of the engine, used in the Land Rover Discovery, produced 188 hp (140 kW) at 4750 rpm and 250 lb·ft (340 N·m) at 2600 rpm.

V6 3.0 is 208 bhp
V6 3.2 is 211 bhp

So in theory you are giving away 20bhp before you start

Looking at this lump and that of the Rover V8 I reckon the Chevy is smaller.

For a minute I thought it was going to be a Toyota/Lexus V8 lump, ala Rats Omega, in which case :y :y :y :y And can I have a go ::) ::)

Rover V8... I wouldn't bother TBH... Less power, much more weight and less reliable for a whole lot of work ;) ;)

Been done, there was an Omega at PVS 2008 with the Rover V8 (in 3.5 carb form iirc), but it was still a wip and only running on 2 cylinders when it tried to go up the strip.

Might be bit less bhp, but a shed load more torque, and a V8 sounds sooooooo much better than a V6

Yup, Rover V8 is going to be a step down. Monaro 6.0 Supercharged V8 on the other hand  :)

Looking at this lump and that of the Rover V8 I reckon the Chevy is smaller.

IIRC the LS7 is an ali block and weighs about 170 Kg. Pretty much the same as an Over V8 or the GM V6. 7 litres and 7K rpm Red line. :-* What's not to like?  8-)

Whilst it has a cult following the Rover V8 is really yesterday's engine. You need to tune it just to match what a 3.0/3.2 will give you and, whilst it's perhaps better supported for tuning beyond that, you need deep pockets because just about everywhere you look on that engine you'll find snags that need sorting before you can safely go beyond the 200 BHP mark.

Stick with the V6 or fit a proper V8, I say.
