As a update to this , ran the car up to Mark DTM and the prob turned out to be the drivers doorside  light swich the rubber cover had a rip in it and was letting in water. With the rain a few nights ago it was triggering the alarm. Will be getting a new one from Vx sellers in a few days. Nice easy fix.

Many thanks Mark..nice to meet up and thanks for the Tech 2 check up.
Good old Mark/tech 2.

Just wondering though how does the diagnosis work with tech 2, does it give a code for the location of the door light switch maybe?

Have put one of those badboys on my birthday list from next year ;D ;D...could not recall what the tech 2 was showing , but have a new switch coming in the am to fit later. :y

I'd guess looking at the alarm log then checking the switch in question.
