Yep, the tool locates onto the two slots cut into the hub of the crank pulley to hold it while you torque it up.

Obviously you need to be able to lock the pulley and brace it while torqueing the bolt up.

Have we got an old pulley part that I can use as a template?

Yep, i'll send you at least one 'two part' pulley  as a template if you like! Will also measure the available space between the radiator and pulley.
