Right get this Guys,

Garage just rung me to tell me the light cannot be ajusted, i said fine can you price up a new light, they said yep no problem £186.23 for one RUDDY HEADLIGHT!!!!!!! i laughed i told him "no your alright chap i couldnt tell your wearing a black and white stripey jumper but i can now!!!" so thanks to RobG ive got myself a conversion set which i will be doing thursday for a 'free' retest at 3.00pm but honestly

£194.86p + £186.23 = Go f**k yourself i thought it was extreme but this is mental!!

The price of the headlight probably isn't far off, however the rest is a joke.

Why can't it be adjusted, that's what I'd be asking:

1) They don't know how
2) They know how but have broken the adjuster
3) The adjuster was already broken, hence it failed in the first place

If the adjuster is broken, the answer is to replace the broken adjuster with a metal replacement (but they wouldn't know about that, admittedly).  ;)

So the garage attempted to adjust the light and broke the adjusters then ::)

Sorry, JamesV6CDX, I still think the price was excessive for a non franchised (presumably) dealer.  When I had my handbrake cable replaced (I'd fallen off bike, couldn't do anything myself), I was charged £40 IIRC, including parts. Bill, with MOT and a 'service' was under £100. This was about 6 or 7 years back.
