... so after chatting with AA man for half an hour I drove it home and fitted a new sensor (and it hasn't played up since........)

I keep a (genuine) spare in the boot now.

I wish I could do things like that...

I haven't got the physical strength, the energy or the dexterity necessary for motor car maintensnce thes days.  On the other hand, I haven't got the money to buy myself the sort of car where I don't have to worry about such things - i.e. a new one! :( :( :(

Crank sensor is one of the easier jobs J.only one torx socket and 10 minutes required.Need to get under the car briefly though.
