Thanks for all the input guys. Engine has a cover on it that is screwed in with 4 bolts. And it has 4 coil per plugs....

is it reasonable to ask to unscrew cover and remove these (bolted down also) to check for oil in't plugs?

Unless perhaps if there were signs of smoke or strong smell of burning oil, may then be worth a look.....

can't you just pull the plug lead out without undoing any bolts?  You can on my f/l V6 and my previous 98 V6.  Oil will be obvious on the lead end.

    I'd forgotten about that
