I have had hundreds of transactions on ebay and only one which wasn't up to expectations. That one involved less than a fiver.
The vast majority of ebay users are pretty decent and honest. You just need to use a bit of common sense, like you should with any other transaction.

+1 Albs , common sense and a bit of detective work.
I've had two "fails "
A BMW E24 last year that was a Cat 2 write off ( twice ) and a Blaupunkt RC and 10 disc changer a month ago that weren't compatible .
The E24 was discovered prior to payment but he refunded my fllight booking costs and HPI check after Ebay got involved and the seller refunded the full transaction cost of the Blaupunkt  inc my P&P +his to return item to UK after Ebay were again informed.
I'd say that their fair play attitude is very good and generally works .

The other problem on egay is shield bidding.....you can see it,but you can't prove it.So I play along for a while, bid em up and drop out and then watch what happens ::)The usual excuse then appears 're-advertised due to' ..........so for me egay is a waste of space like the majority of the people who sell cheap sub standard shite on there.Rant done!! :-X
