Edge on paint

Can anyone give me some advice. I was painting a rust repair and i had the tape to close and i now have a edge on it. Is is possible to blend this in and if so how.

2000 grit wet and dry, with light pressure and loads of water :y

And always use the paper on a block! That doesn't have to be anything fancy; a piece of plywood, UPVC window trim is good, or pipe insulation for  curves.

If it's only a slight lip, cutting compound might suffice, but best with very wet and dry :y

I did think of wet and dry but wont that rub the laguer off as well

Be gentle, but you can give it a very light dusting of laquer once clean and dry just to seal it :y

a piccy would be helpful..

if there is an edge 2000 wet sanding can correct the problem however, shape and (if ther is any) level difference may require some bondo than sanding :-\

Next time use a wider tape, and gently curve it back over itself away from the repair. This will help you get a much softer edge on the new paint.
