We are currently recruiting for a senior iOS developer, salary is around £65k

So far two best candidates are a Spanish chap and Lithuanian. The latter should be joining us, we had a couple of locals, but not up to scratch.

He will join our other senior dev, a French guy 

In the same boat, just taken on board a foreigner because nobody here has the skillset

So how are people supposed to develop if companies just employ foreigners all the time.  Take the NHS for example, where they employ thousands of foreign nurses, because it's cheaper than training British youngsters. 

I need experienced IT Security professionals, not someone who has done CompTIA S+ and calls himself a Senior IT Security Professional (seem to be awash with these idiots in the UK) the shortage of the skillset I need is even more pronounced in France.  I can't take  on a youngster and train them up, it would take over a decade by which time he/she would likely have left for another company.

Given your stated location, I'd expect most of the workers in the fields are from that neck of the woods as well, as nobody else will do it for the money.
