dti timing
« on: 22 May 2016, 20:47:56 »

I have found a couple of videos on the topic of replacing the timing & balance chain on a 2.2 dti . my query is neither was using a locking tool, so is one needed. also as the mechanic had the engine on a bench so nothing was in the way. would I have to remove the rad & condenser to give more room to work.

There is a locking tool as I have one, and you will need to drop the sump too. :y

yes Ive bought a locking tool but  not quite sure how to use it as no diagrams provided & the you tubes videos have me more confused as no lock tool in use. the videos come under changing gm ecotec timing chains.  :-\

yes I have , I thought the pics were a bit vague tho, will take another look. also I'm taking a break this coming weekend & as the sump needs lowering I shall ( with fingers crossed ) attempt it on return, then an oil change will also be done too.  :y
