Otherwise, run the Pug until the curent year ends and transfer full no claims then.

Yes, that is what I shall do....

thought you had a traders policy anyway?  If so, whats the prob?   :-?

I have insurance that covers me to work on cars, and will cover me for public liability if any problems occur as a direct result of any work that I do.

I don't have insurance that will just let me jump in any car and drive it.... (unless it already has a Policy of it's own...)

In that case, cut your losses.  get a traders policy....

I shall most likely run the pug, to the end of the policy - and consider my options at renewal time.

Thanks for the input :y

If you are still doing running repairs on omegas and others, a traders policy is sensible.  Means you can road test as and when without worrying if the car your repairing is insured in its own right or not.  Think you can notify max of three/four 'permanent' changes per year, no max for temporary 9cars beinf repaired) notifications?  no doubt others more familiar will advise....

Thanks Broocie

Running repairs are few and far between - maybe one in every few weeks at most - however I will definately look into the details. It's also an area I know little about... so appreciate advice thus far :y

James -- ring around a few insurance companies direct --- don't use a comparison site. Explain the situation -- the coompanies are fighting for business and might well bump up an "introductory" NCB to get your business.  PITA making the calls -- but might pay off.

Give Morethan a call, they must be desperate for business.
I was in bed today when they called about a quote I did online, they rang another 3 times to get my business...........anyway it was very good, I hope they are when you make a claim.
It's the best quote I've ever had for insurance so far and just over £300 for both cars........ok there old but it's still fully comp cover with protected NCD.

TBH I've found multi-car policies to be expensive. I got a quote this year from Admiral and it worked out more expensive than insuring the cars separately!

As for Trade Policies, I used to have one and it was very good. The only time it becomes a real pain is if you want more than 1 driver insured as the risk essentially doubles because you could potentially have 2 or more claims at the same time. IIRCC I was paying around £70/month for mine, fully comp on any vehicle including bikes (with some of the superbikes excluded) and I was only slightly older than you are now. I think it was arranged through Footman James :-/ :-/

Try compare the meerkat, or confused etc and see if Siftcover come up - if they do and its reasonable - ring them up and point out they are talking 'dangle berries'.
