And if it is illegal so should tobacco - at least 2 very close relatives died due to it
I take it you will be quite happy for your taxes to raise disproportionately to make up the £11 billion per annum loss in revenue if it is made illegal?

Legalise soft drugs and tax them then!
Dont know which ones you would class as soft, but if you spend a bit of time researching them(including a visit to your local mental health hospital for their opinions and experience) and then ask yourself the question - would I be happy to discover that my children are going to use this substance for regular recreation when they reach their mid teens?  ;)

Difficult question isn't it.

I'd be more disappointed by tobacco than cannabis but I would like them to be clean.

As before why is tobacco legal?

Tobacco brings in staggering amounts of revenue to the exchequer.
There are freedom of choice issues when trying to outlaw a substance which has been legal for centuries. It will come but it will take a long time.50 years ago it was actually advertised as being good for your health in the U.S.
The tobacco lobby is a very powerful one (including our old friend Ken Clark) ;)
