I for one never liked it from day one BUT u have to remember that the 'older' generation loved it & that's why it went on for soooooo long  :o

I preferred, and still love, watching Dads Army & the repeats ..... classic british comedy - don't panic Pikey!!!!

Think i'd better sit in a darkened cupboard to cool down!!  :y
I have a lot of Dad's Army on DVD, and masses of complete series, on dvd, 3000 last time we counted ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
That's so sad.........you need a hobby.

She has found OOF.......... :D :D :D :y

Sorry but I think it's a pity it is being dropped.
Not because I watch it but for the many older people who do enjoy it because of it's gentle ,simple format. They have to be considered too when it comes down to it and not many of them will laugh at the alternative " comedy " sitcoms on offer.

The BBC has confirmed that it is axing comedy series Last Of The Summer Wine after 37 years.
The final run will feature long-time cast member Peter Sallis as Norman Clegg, alongside Russ Abbott (Hobbo) and Brian Murphy (Alvin)
I supppose it had to happen.
RIP LOTSW :'( :'( :'(

never saw him in it. just as well.
