A Sad Day for Sitcoms.
« on: 02 June 2010, 23:01:02 »

The BBC has confirmed that it is axing comedy series Last Of The Summer Wine after 37 years.
The final run will feature long-time cast member Peter Sallis as Norman Clegg, alongside Russ Abbott (Hobbo) and Brian Murphy (Alvin)
I supppose it had to happen.
RIP LOTSW :'( :'( :'(

They should have axed it years ago, it was well past its sell by date. I did used to watch it years ago, but it's been dragged along for far too long now.  ;)

I never watched an episode right through.

Did enjoy The Two Ronnies taking the rise out of it though.

I must admit that whilst it was great in it's day, to keep it slogging on for so long was a mistake as it became weaker, with it's original appeal long past.

Let us just remember though its great funny days!  RIP :-* :-*

Not a very interesting "sit" and no detectable "com" as far as I am concerned.

Won't be missed by me. :)

I for one never liked it from day one BUT u have to remember that the 'older' generation loved it & that's why it went on for soooooo long  :o

I preferred, and still love, watching Dads Army & the repeats ..... classic british comedy - don't panic Pikey!!!!

Think i'd better sit in a darkened cupboard to cool down!!  :y
