Flashing engine symbol is an Immobiliser fault, have you opened the key recently or any sign of chewing to the wiring?

No....and not that I can see Mark.....It seems to be starting a little better now......but runs a bit rough....It looks like they have chewed through just the one breather pipe..... :-/....Varmints.... :( :( :( :(

Well the result will be an air leak and hence the rough running

Any idea how much it costs to replace these breather pipes?.......are they an easy fix?... :y

nope.. working in the backside area of the engine is trouble imo..  :-/

for rodents you have two choices.. either put there some food so they wont eat your car or bring some cats.. but I'm afraid if they build a home somewhere in the car cats cant reach.. :(

Easy to replace IMO, but no offence, those breather pipes haven't been off for a while have they?

So, with that and your questioning,  guessing car diy is not high on your list of hobbies. So will be a bit more fiddly than you would like, there is not much room at the back of the engine. The metal clip levers off with a screw driver, and both ends of the pipe are a push fit if iirc, although if that pipe goes to the breather box on the crank case then there may be a clip on that end also. Access will be fiddly. May as well follow the breather cleaning guide while your at it???

Yep ..thanks for that...... I've sorted that part..... how far does the four into one breather pipe go down the back of the engine?......I can't feel the other push fit end to the rubber pipes....

I found it easier to get a a platform to raise you a little higher from the ground to lower yourself onto that side of the engine as irs a fair way down and for some of ua with sort arms its a a little too far to reach without this platform

Two larger outside ones are two into one, and goes to breather box behind cylinder 5, twominner ones are single pipes, one also goes to breather box on a smaller spigot, other one goes to carbon canister via plastic pipe to drivers wing, so they all go down about 3inches then turn left round to the back of cylinder 5 nearest drivers seat.

Breather cleaning guide may help, does it?

Ah yes thanks Chris.......I can see that now. Using a torch..... it looks like a four into one system. I only need to replace the two outside (2 into 1 breather pipes)...Any idea how much this should cost me?
