Every one I ahev worked on its been in the passenger footwel behind the left kick panel.

Some have a further coax in the drivers side to feed a telematics unit in the boot.

How do I go about getting the kick panel off?  Is there a nack to it?

IIRC, you need to remove the sill cover panel to expose one of the screws and there are another 1 or 2 (torx) screws in recesses in the panel itself.

Have a look in the howtos where there is a guide to fitting an amplifier. This covers removal of these panels.

Beltin' - I'll have a dabble later on.  :y
But what exactly is it that I'm looking for?  Is it some sort of box that you plug an aerial lead into?

Right, I've had the passenger-side kick panel off, and here's what I found behind it

Anybody any ideas which should be the aerial lead from that little lot??  :o

That grey wire with the black one taped to it looks familiar. I think the black wire is the power feed to the pre-amp and the grey one is coaxial cable for the aerial signal. You should be able to find it diving off under the parcel shelf if you ease the rear seat forwards at the back. There's a connector behind the kick panel in mine where it connects to a short section of wire that feeds the radio.

Thanks Kevin  :y

But when I've followed the grey and black wires up, they disappear into the abyss that is the back of the Omega's dashboard...  I've also had the head unit out, and can't find any sign of it at all  >:(

So, would I be best to remove the black stubby aerial (the one for the built-in phone, which my Omega ain't got) and fit a normal aerial in its place?

Any ideas???  I miss me radio now - there's only so many times you can listen to the Wurzels Greatest Hits on CD!  :-[  ;D
