Yes, there is a what is considered to be a thou in metric (mm's!)

Quite clearly the head was not warped if that is the case so no point machining it at all really!
ah! I can imagine amount better know... ...can't work in these odd units that fogies use :y

Yes, there is a what is considered to be a thou in metric (mm's!)

Quite clearly the head was not warped if that is the case so no point machining it at all really!

But not what you'd generally use in a workshop. As 0.010"/10 thou is aprox 0.25mm (1mm ~0.040") for everyday use, hundredths of millimeters is plenty small enough. Thousandths of mms equates more to '10ths of thous of an inch'

 ...... and you won't be skimming them in a Brigeport/etc in a machine shop!  :y  :y
