fitted the new dealer unit on saturday - everything working as it should with no assistance from the snap-on diagnostics.

............................ except one thing......................

the traction control light will not go out.

Will speak to Vauxhall on Monday if I get the chance to see if there is something I need to do.

It is good to have my speedo, cruise control and power steering back


Let me know how you go with it mate as mine was fitted last week and have the same problem as you, now the speedo is working, abs light off but my t/c light is on about 60% of the time and I think that the steering is somewhere between the very heavy like it was before the unit was fixed and normal.

Having it checked to see what codes come up on Monday, I don't hold out on much luck with the garage as they are a country bumkin garage and I seem to know more about the whole abs ecu problems than they do (mind you, that goes for Vauxhalls as well, totally useless the lot of them  )

I wish all these mechanics would just be honest and say "I have not a clue mate" would save time and money but hey, they don't care diddly squat

well I tried an all singing and dancing snap-on tech unit but to no avail.

Rang the snap-on help line and it seems this particular function requires a tech2 from vauxhall dealers...  :-/

booked in tomorrow, that will be £50 less in my wallet then...

Well, as of 5pm today all is well, lights out and all functions returned.

Cost 3 times what I hoped for but at least the car's back to its nice and comfortable self................ 8-)

I tell you, you don't know what your missing till its gone.

Since the middle of June I have had to use my brothers Calibra, same engine etc but nowhere near as comfortable IMO. And my daughter's Corsa - old N reg 1.4 CDX, leather etc - nice but dinky...............

Well, as of 5pm today all is well, lights out and all functions returned.

Cost 3 times what I hoped for but at least the car's back to its nice and comfortable self................ 8-)

I now need an abs ecu for my omega and guess what?

When I check it I get intermittant contact with the ECU, speedo not working, cruise down and power steering too. All the usual suspects.

new abs-ecu from dealer = £340 + £51 to re-program, fitted myself......

I did not have a problem when reman when I sent em my abs ecu day they got it they rang saying that they could fix it no problem.

fix and sent it back by courier and it worked without a problem

think it was just over 100 quid including courier

I spoke too soon  I still have t/c light on, my bumkin garage checked it on thier 3 diagnostic machines and said there was still a problem with the refurbed ecu as their comps could not talk to it. Took it to vx dealer ran it through tech 2, 60 quid to look at it and they say the unit is still faulty. Contacted Remann and they want it back to look at it again and offered to pay for the new removal and refit. Hope they do't come back and say thry can't fix it and try to get me to buy a new one from them as they will be owing me quite a bit of dosh!

I feel for you mate - **ckin' hate it when so called repairs go wrong, bet your unit is a "--- --- 206" as well.

luckily Reman refunded all my money and did not even charge for postage or the £40-odd to look at it initially.
