Spanner light on instrument cluster
« on: 06 January 2011, 20:27:53 »

Hiya all :)

I've had a search on here to try and find the answer but can't seem to find it :(

Does the facelift 2.2 DTi have a spanner light on the dashboard instrument cluster (the one that is used on other engines to read the ecu fault codes when the throttle is pressed and held with the engine not running) ?

The reason I ask is that obviously the cluster in my car has that cutout/picture but doesn't illuminate when you turn the ignition on and the vehicle self test is performed.

If it is supposed to have it then I suspenct the bulb may of been removed or has died.

Cheers :)

Neither of the 2.2 engines (petrol a diesel) can be paperclipped or pedal tricked. They need a code reader.

Most likely the bulb has gone or the previous owner has removed it to hide a fault.
