Have you taken any measures?

Global meltdown, global warming, global poppycock !!
Yes, I have washed and polished the car
Yes, I have stockpiled food and fuel and withdrawn all cash and got gold coins
No, simply because our banks wouldn't let it happen and make us suffer
Don't know, my butler does all that sort of stuff.

been having a few "heated debates" with a mate of mine about this. his argument is that the venus project is the way ahead, my reply to that is that we would have to go back to the stoneage for that philosophy to work. dont know how to do a link but if your interested enough look up the venus project.

http://www.thevenusproject.com/

A laudable goal but one that will struggle as there's one impediment that will always disallow success - the human will.

Sadly, for that utopian ideal to take hold, the population of the globe would have to be lobotomised.

Sadly I think most of the people in power already have been ;D
Those machines in Tesco do it for you, don't they?

"Please scan your item"
"Place the item in the bagging area"
"Are you sure you've placed the item in the bagging area?"
"please insert card"
"wait for your receipt"
"Place scalp in drilling area"
"There has been a blood spill. please wait for an attendant to clear it up".

Strangly enough I was in B&Q this morning and had to use one those self-service check-out machines.

After following all the instructions a voice thanked me for shopping at B&Q, rather than respond in kind I told it to opps off which, for some odd reason, made be feel an awful lot better as I left the store. ???

If armageddon comes I'll be leaving the front door unlocked and hoping the first ones in end it swiftly.

I would say that if the bit came to the bit Aa you would give a good account of yourself. 8)

I'm not so sure about that - I can't even claim to have ever raised a fist to anyone, let alone anything else. Although I had a decent eye with an air rifle. Er, not at people, obviously - just in case my sentence structure left any doubt, there.

But I'm honestly not sure I care enough about (my own) life to try, these days. (I blame the season for my current mood)

It's quite easy to get to a point where one's focus becomes too concentrated, I get it from time to time - I'll remember something from the past or look at a contemporary event only to find that either of these has conspired to condense my attention to the exclusion and detriment of many other things.

It passes of course, but essentially it's a waste of time - not easy to rationalise when in the throes of it sadly but, realistically, you're not alone and next month will herald the beginning of a new year with fresh opportunities to seek out. :-*

Cheers Den - here's hoping 2012 will be different.. then again, I seem to have been saying that for the past 15 years or so.

I think I'm just going to get a big brood of cats and turn into crazy old cat guy.

We will be okay we have our own currency, so unlike the Eurozone, the UK can't go bankrupt.  :y :y

We might just have to print so much of it that we have hyperinflation.  :o :o

It will be like the 1970's all over again except the inflation will be on turbo. Time to get the flaired trousers out me thinks, I just need to add 4" to the waste size,  ::) ::) ::)  but at least the platform shoes will fit.  ;D ;D

And it was the era of hot pants for the girls  ;):P :P :P
