0420/0430 occur on mine twice a year ... 2/3 days after arrival in France, then 2/3 days after returning home. I am CONVINCED it is the change of fuel that the sensors pick up as an underperforming Cat.

so, new cat ?? move sensors ?? .... or  in my case .. buy a simple code reader/resetter for £80. Light comes on. stop. reader out of boot. read codes to check it is 0420/0430. reset. continue on my way until the next time.

When I changed from the old 2.5 to this 3.2 I was told on this forum it was not a matter of "if" this fault happens .. but "when" .... and as usual they were right.

You just have to choose your solution .....  :)

Entwood's solution has works just fine with me - also had situation when light came on and after 3 days or so and definitely not 30 clean starts it went off. I have the maxscan to reset.

Probably is 2 or 3 times a year and just reset.

Been in touch with them today and it will be about £400 for a dual branch irmscher type back box to be made. Cheaper to fit conventional bumper and standard back box.

Thanks to Alan for the pictures. I think the tailpipes are growing on me (slowly). I received my quote from longlife a few days ago, £391

So Jetex is £70 more than handmade and possibly quieter but with slightly uglier tailpipes. I think that's a compromise I can live with. Would anyone be interested in a group buy? GM last made the twinwall exhaust in 2007. 5 years on surely these now need replacing.. :P

All parts direct do similar lengths of tube to this
http://merlinmotorsport.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=1537%20&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=ShoppingUK&utm_campaign=ShoppingUK

Two arriving tomorrow. Measure parts for cutting. Remove back box. Cut the rotten bit out, cut new tubes to length. Clamp the new tubes onto the car exhaust, re fit back box. Smart!

Hopefully.  :-\. £26 bloody quid for two though.  :o

Oooooo I like those, has yours failed in similar place to mine? If £26 keeps a genuine going another few years, worth every penny!

Think a trip down your way is needed soon...

Suspect it probably has, they all go in much the same place.

My only slight concern is cutting the pipes on the car. I have a small angle grinder with cutting disk. But not sure the disc is big enough diameter to cut all the way through. Could hacksaw the rest but access is bound to be a mare.

Pipe cutters go that big I wonder...? They do exhaust pipe cutters, not cheap.

Actually no, pipe cutter no good. Pipes are too closes together. :(

Room for a plasma cutter?  :D

Not sure where we can get access though, guess on stands makes things harder. Be better to get the car high in the air, when are you looking at doing this?

Mine looks like swiss cheese between centre and back box  :(

Would that be this weekend? Would not mind crashing in on this, but I doubt I could get exhaust pipes in time  :(

Most decent motor factors stock lengths of exhaust straight pipe in various diameters.

Good point, although decent motor factors are getting hard to come by  :(

It would be ;) Although I'm not sure what time things will be as I'm still on call and could be dragged away at any moment  ::) Wouldn't want you to have a wasted trip ;)
