Diesel 2.5 td coversion in 2.5 v6 estate
« on: 28 February 2012, 14:38:24 »

Hello!

Now is the time to change the 2.5 v6 engine after a major brake down..
I went to sweden and bay a 95 2.5td estate to use as a donor.

Everything look OK. except the drive by wire throttle...

How do i solve this problem?

Any tips/tricks where this wires (6pc) goes to? (i know some goes to ecu)

Anyone who has done this conversion before and will help?

Just change the throttle out of the 2.5 td into the original car. Should work. Change anything you cant fix or alter.  :)

Has it only been that easy  :-\
The "orginal" car has no connector for "accelerator pedal potentiometer"

Different ECU, guessing different Loom, TD Sensors, TD Fuel Pumps and Wiring, as far as I know Dash is different, Glow Plug wiring, not sure if the Gearbox Bell Housing mates up?

Wouldn't have thought an easy swop, but probably do able.

Someone done this last year on here and had lots of trouble getting it to run properly.
You need to replace every thing on the v6 (all ecu's wiring looms gearbox bell housing etc) from the TD its a pain staking job good luck :y

I have touch a bolt and nut before  ;)

I know what i need to change from the donor car.

-Engine electric to ecu is easy
-Manual Gearbox easy
-Tank pump easy

Oh now I know where I need to connect to the gas pedal the engine wiring harness  ;D

It was a little too easy.

I can not see that it will occur no more problems .. for now  :P

I'll post some pictures soon.
