Help needed...
« on: 29 February 2012, 20:35:31 »

Hi,
I understand I shouldn't post this here but I do need help...
While working on the car to fix the clutch, it started peeing down so I threw everything under the car and made a run for cover...
The next morning I went out to finnish up and some toe rag had nicked my cat's!!! Grrrr!
Anyway, I have heard that the ones on fleaBay are no good????
Next option is new units from VX.... Mucho quido!!!
So, IF any of our OOF members have a pair to fit my 3.0 FL, please do drop me a line...

Thank you Tigers, I'm gonna take a punt at the FleaBay ones and see how they do...
If they're no good, I will do as you suggest....
I have so many jobs to do but right now, I just want it back on the road so I can enjoy it....

Sorry to hear about that. I have a pair of Timax cats that I removed a couple of years ago and been in my garage since. They were only a few weeks old at the time but I hated them. You can have them is you like. '99 3.0 Elite.

Pattern cats are a total waste of money.Genuine used is the only way to go. ;)

Thanks for all the advice guys, the only problem I have with the genuine parts is at £398 + VAT each I could buy another car for that! I work in the automotive industry and know that dealers mark-up the price many hundreds if not thousands of % so IF I can get away with aftermarket parts, I will...

Take the clutch slave cylinder for example, another £400 part that will cost £8-10 to make....
It's just not cricket!
