I hate BT with a passion and cant wait to leave in may, the customer service is the worse ive ever experienced from any company, my net keeps slowing right down and i have to reset the home hub atleast once a day. after 5 calls all taking atleast 30 mins they finaly sent a new v3 hub, I still have to keep resetting the stupid thing, not only that they told me when i was going to leave last time they could give me a good deal, total lies! said i never go over a certain amount and would get phoned or emailed if i did before any charges, yet even after admitting they hadnt contacted me wouldnt take off the extra £25 charges for going over, and this for a crap 4mg connection!  Every 6 months i have to go through some shit with bt  :( :(
But what always makes me laugh is the 15 times they have updated my address, and each time say sorry and its now done........  (they managed to get the bills here but cant get the engineers or equiptment lol )

That was always going to be a problem once OFCOM (the most ineffectual buch of retards ever put upon this earth) insisted BT had to be split to virtual seperate companies, which means that one half isn't allowed to use the other half's customer databases directly, and have to go through layered interfaces, adding more chance for all customers (not just BT Retail - the part you assume are "BT") to get poor service.  But thats OFCOM.
