Ta all! Have put a shout up for a decent used one to tide me over before I bite the bullet and get a new one - I'm considering a nice standard-sounding system from our local-ish specialists, come the summer...

I bought one of these for my MV6 - don't know the technicalities of exhausts but it fitted a treat and no problems running

How does it sound? Louder than standard?

I know my little brother would be spitting feathers if he heard anyone recommending Jetex.

He had one put on his AX GT, and always moaned about how gutless it made it. Multiple Jetex agents checked it, said it was fine.  After a year, he couldn't tolerate it any more, ripped it off, binned it, and put on a cheap nasty Timax, and the thing became a pocket rocket again.

I went down the stainless route about four years ago purely for longevity. After fitting it there was no loss of performance but certainly no gain either, (not that any was expected). I would have preferred a GM replacement like the original system but heard the latest spec one's slated on here so didn't bother. On my previous omega I had a twin exit Walker back box fitted for over three years and was very pleased with the sound but have heard the current crop of them slated on here as well so I wouldn't know what to suggest now. You will never truly eliminate the sound of a big bore stainless pipe but the Jetex got the closest to it. I'm not a fan of boomy exhaust systems but can easily live with the Jetex system. Personal choice and finances dictate I suppose.
I will be the first to admit though that the original exhaust system was spot on for sound. Quiet when cruising and gained a growl when you gave it large.  :y

Regards
Alan

Think the site gets better ( http://store.eternalcar.com/index.php?text=Omega&button.x=42&button.y=6&skey=products&site=list&category_id=0 )

It is not always easy to fing anything though.. still I have dropped them an email some time ago to aks about parts they did not have and it was not a problem to order the parts anyway

they are a bit crap with the website, but it will only show you what they have. I often found ringing them best option (when their phones actually work)

Its worth it, as their zorsts are well made and cheap!

Ordering is a right pita IMO. But it is worth persevering.

I wish they'd sort thier site out, it's a bit embarrassing recommending them given the ordering process and crap eBay shop. Parts are good though. ;)

TBH, if you don't mind using ebay - some do, some don't - and the parts are listed, they are fairly slick IMHO.  Its if you want to call them (they are only available for calls early morning) is when it gets embarrassing, as they can't tell you any more than their ebay shop stock levels can.

We are, on OOF, specialists on Omegas, we should be able to work out the correct parts ourselves, so that shouldn't be a problem.

The biggest frustration is if they don't list a specific part, thats usually just because its out of stock, and they seem incapable of estimating when it will be back in.

Sorry about the hijack.

I did have a problem with one last year for my TD Estate, the mounting lugs were offset sufficiently to make fitting it a PITA, and as the lugs are fairly tough steel, it was virtually impossible to bend them. Fair play to Eternal though, they refunded the cost... eventually. :y

I had an eternal car system on my old 3 litre Elite, good service from them, quick delivery, good fit and very reasonable price, couldn't fault them. Still got it in the shed since I scrapped the car, shame it doesn't fit my estate...

I know it's about exhaust parts but have you ever tried Eternalcar s boot liners ? i didn't want to start a new topic but though you might know something about them as well. The exhaust parts are good so maybe one of you have tried the mats as well ? I would need the one here : http://store.eternalcar.com/boot_mat_liner_anti_slip_vauxhall_omega_b_19942003,k,16,p,11637.html
