Eternal exhaust - too long to ship.
« on: 07 March 2012, 18:24:34 »

Hi Everyone

I read a few good things on hear about Eternal exhaust for the omega so I went ahead and ordered one last week. I recieved a email today which I could not believe. this is in reference to the 2 centre sections I have ordered for my 3.2.  they have advised that parcel force have said they are too long for there standard delivery charge and returned them back to Eternal. Eternals suggestion is they will cut them in half and I can weld them back together.?? is this a translation problem or do they actually expect me to weld them?
have a read.
I have emailed them back asking for them to find a alternate courier or a solution that does not involve me having a refund. and to clarify if they actually mean welding them back together or they will put a joint that requires a clamp and paste.
lets see what I get back.
Pete
==================================================================================

We are writing to you in reference to the exhaust you have recently bought on eBay.
We regret to inform you that the carrier has returned your package because of the size of it that exceeds the standards changed by the transport company Parcel Force.
These changes were introduced yesterday (so after having sent the
package) so we could not inform you earlier. In addition, they are asking
us to pay an extra 35GBP to deliver this parcel to you, which we find unacceptable. We are extremely sorry about this situation.

In this case, we can either send the full refund back to your Paypal account as soon as possible or cut the exhaust in two pieces and send it in another parcel. You would need to weld it on your own as unfortunately we do not have any connectors but if you are willing to do this we can include soft cement for free. You could use it after welding to seal the pipe up.

We do apologise for this inconvenience, but unfortunately the actions of the courier company are beyond our control.

Wow! Are you paying the shipping cost anyway? Could you find another shipping company?

That has to be the worst example of customer service anywhere in the history of the universe. It reads like an April fools joke. :o :o
Tell em to break off, demand a refund, leave very negative feedback.Their courier changing the T,s& C,s is their problem not yours.

That bit I believed, TBH, but cut the exhaust into bits so you can weld it back together on receipt? ;D

When they say "cut" do they perhaps mean put each centre section in separate packages?  :-\

I think it will end up going in this direction unless they come back with a sensible reply. but dont miss the guesture they have offered already...I can have some free exhaust seal :D If they throw in a welder I might go for it.
