2010 Seat Ibiza. 8k miles wbac price 8500. retail 10000-11000 app.
2005 seat Alhambra 54k miles wbac price 5500. retail 8000 app.
2000 Omiga Elite 69k miles wbac price 305 retail 1500 app.

Retail prices are just a quick look on Autotrader so not very scientific but it does show the kind of mark up they expect. I bloody hate cheating car sale places. There are some good ones out there. When I brought the Ibiza it was a main agent job. She was only 9 months old with 5k miles on her and I saved just over 4k against the price of a new one and I was very well looked after. I remember once going to one of these giant supermarket places and they mucked us around for hours. When I got up to leave one of the sales guys actually stood in the door way and physically tried to stop me. I was furious. Told him in no uncertain terms if he didn't move his nose would start bleeding. Why does it need to be so stressful.

I was curious what they'd offer me for the Lotus Carlton. Answer 3k!!!! One of the bods phoned me and couldn't understand why I didn't like the price. Mind you he could hardly speak English  ::)

"We just sold are car fair deal" If your expectations are 3 beans!!!

With that car, why do you want to buy an omega? is your carlton for sale?

The LC is currently coming to the tail end of quite a big resto job. I'm missing my big VX fix and I can't see me using the LC much. It has far to much money tied up in it. It's also impossible to park it or leave it any where without being scared to death something will happen to it. Don't get me wrong I love it but honestly it's a bit of mare to drive. It's hard, heavy to steer and has fierce clutch. Not bad on fuel though if you can keep ya right boot out of the carpet. I'm undecided as what to do with it. I may well sell it in the future but I can promise you it won't be going for 3k!!!!!

How much will you be selling it for if you don't mind me asking?

I don't know if the lotus mig is for sale. Last time I saw it it was sitting outside the guys garage not being used that was a good couple of years ago.

As for price for mine. I'm still thinking about that. It really is one of the most sorted ones out there now. If it does go it won't be cheap and if nobody wants to pay for it I'll just hang on to it. It may well turn out to be one of those cases where it's worth more to me than market value. The other thing is I know the engine in mine is ok. They do crack blocks and they do snap timing chains. You can't get one of the chain guides now for love or money. I saw one sell (nos) on the pit for 550 quid. Just for a bit of curved plastic. Lucky for me I had new ones tucked away (non left now though) Also my block is a uprated one which Lotus didn't get to put into production before GM pulled the plug on the project. Around 10 of these blocks were found in the factory years after they finished with the LC's. This is the problem with them. You can spend 20k on one and it's still no guarantee it won't go pop. I know mines a good one and will easily last another 100k miles. Which with a classic car like this is a lifetime
