I was curious but couldnt find a net answer, is "no ip directed -broadcast" default on cisco routers ?

Not a chance, too straight talking, with common sense and real life experience for that  ::)

Used to be a senior manager in the past and could not stand the bullsh*t and back stabbing  :o :o

IP directed broadcasts should be disabled by default as that is a requirement of the IEEE spec.......and given Cisco's staff wrote most of the layer three ones...

from what I see (I did some search) new models have this property enabled by default.. old models not.. but no detailed info on  which models which year.. :-\
