Question about my last mot
« on: 09 March 2012, 13:23:29 »

The day before I took it in, I had a lambda sensor go tits up on me.
Got the stilsons out and replaced it with one off a scrapper that I had kept.
The car ran great both on lpg and petrol.

Right, during the emissions test (done on petrol / run out of lpg), Mr mot man struggled to get the readings down.
Apparently it should have been 0.2 but was hovering around the 0.6 mark  ???

Is this down to the lambda sensor that I have changed or could it be (like mot man suggested) a dry injector because it runs on lpg 99% of the time  :-\
I have pulled up the live data and both sensors are switching at roughly the same rate between 0 and 800 mV when warmed through at idle.
Would it help if I reset (if I can work out how too with my "My Naff Code Reader") the block data and let the petrol ecu re learn the engines parameters  :-\

Just my thought ... but surely easier/cheaper to stick 20 litres LPG in it and have it tested on gas ???

Gas emissions test far easier to pass than petrol one !!!  :)

The very nice man past the car with only a slightly dodgy brake pipe (run out of white grease for that bit) ;) ;)

It was just something that was bugging me last night  ;D
Even though I'm skint beyond belief, I do take a little pride in the shed  ;D

Just wondering if it was something I could sort out  ;)

ps   Don't mention lpg, Morrisons have just slapped 5 pence a ltr on it this morning when I filled up the bast**ds   >:(
