Yet another cam belt question.
« on: 09 March 2012, 23:29:01 »

I'm looking at doing the cam belt on my 2.5 soon as it's been a few years since it was last done, although it's within the specified mileage.

I have looked about for the parts and can get a belt kit and water pump for £110.09 delivered from Buypartsby.

Does that sound like about the right kind of price?

Thankfully I have access to a cam locking kit and all the necessary tools so at least that's sorted.

When I looked on buypartsby there were six different kits all stating 225 teeth but with slightly different part numbers, although they would appear to be from the same manufacturer as all the part numbers start with SAF.  Any Ideas as to which one to order?

I've seen the cambelt kits less water pump going for about 110 on the pit. So I guess your price looks pretty good. Is it a Gates belt?

The ad doesn't specify a make, but James seems to be quite confident that it will be a Contitech.

I've never used one of those - are they any good?
