Hosepipe ban
« on: 13 March 2012, 09:17:46 »

Makes me laugh, living in a hot country with little rainfall, that once again SE England is facing water shortages.

I have the prefect solution. Scrap HS2 and Divert the cash and build a barrage across the Wash. That would then become a huge freshwater reservoir/tourist attraction. Some HS2 cash could even be used to install a pipeline to serve Essex and Kent etc.

Then when it is completed we could sell it to the French( after all they now control our future energy supplies so why not give them the water too). Then the money raised could be used to fund another futile war somewhere to showcase our weapons industry!    :y

On tv last night that Scotland's rainfall is up 23% above average yet down in carrot cruncher land, it down 25%.

Just how hard is it to build a bloody big pipeline down the middle of the country ?

The pipework is easy, but pumping the water is more challenging ;)

The do-gooders successfully prevented Thames Water from building that big reservoir near Didcot.  Let those dippy retards suffer first.

Not been upto Scotland for a good few years but how high (above sea level) are these resevoirs ?

At the end of the day, water flows with gravity and I wouldn't have thought that that many pumps would be needed  :-\

Then again, what the break do I know  ;D ;D
