Yes  :(

Now its past the mot, I am trying to track down this whine i've had for the last few months.
At first, you only got it when you accerated hard in 1st or 2nd.
Now, you get more of a rumble when you are just coasting along with the car in gear but your foot off the gas.

Been going round in circles for a while now and getting nowhere with it  :(

If you knock it into neutral when your going along does it change?????

Noise disapears.

That rules out wheel bearing and diff I reckon.....have you checked the oil in your gearbox?

I'll also add, no problem at all with selecting gears

When you say thrust bearing are you talking release bearing or the small pilot bearing in the end of the crank....

When you say thrust bearing are you talking release bearing or the small pilot bearing in the end of the crank....

I believe its the one that has a nylon case that is in the area of the clutch  :-\
Some of you lads have forgotten more about mechanics then I'll ever know so bear with me on this  :-[
A friend of mine metioned that it sounds like one hence the question on here  :-[ :-[

Gearbox level ish and level plug on the side is off.
Not dribbleing out so I take it it needs a top up.

Can I use EP80W-90 ?
