Baxi Solo 3 PFL 50
« on: 22 March 2012, 11:30:39 »

Yes I know they are crap boilers but my system has decided to play me up.
Before I get a Sparky to wring me out, does anybody have an idea of what could be causing the fault.

The hot water and C/H work fine but the circulating pump is on constantly, day and night, 24/7. It will not go off.....

The pump is wired straight into the boiler PCB so that controls the timing of the pump.

I have disconnected the port valve and the pump continues to run.

If I turn the boiler off on its controller the pump continues to run.

If I turn the mains switch off and totally isolate the boiler the pump stops.

I am leaning towards a faulty PCB in the boiler.

If it is the PCB, do you knowledgable fellows know which failed parts control the pump.

RL3 on the schematic. Could be its contacts have welded together so check across them with an Ohmmeter. :y

Thanks for replying Kevin. I presume the relays are the large black boxes at the top right. Which one is RL3?

I was gonna have a look at the pcb layout (top link) but i get an error saying the link has expired.

Yes, it will be a 'box' type object......is it not marked on the pcb?
