Decent enough tyre if you ask me Chris. Got them fitted to my Mondeo and can lose most things joining the London bound A40 from the M25...lovely 270 Deg bend!

Don't mention the F word to TB though...he twitches a bit ;D

Pretty good tyres run them for a few years now.........try and keep the pressures on the high side as they can wear the shoulders quite badly..

And I bet you haven't used it much :P

Seriously, it would be good to compare to the 912, although the 452 I've driven on an Omega were shite, but the shagged suspension might have made it worse...   ...or better ;D

(Tunnie, your old heap was on 452s for a while?)

I should, for those considering new tyres, point out that I don't believe Mr chrisgixer is in any way endorsing the use of Falkens on Omegas....    ....so if members are in the market for new tyres, walk on past the Falkens ;D

I also happen to know that these Falkens cost a lot of money :o :o

Pretty good tyre considering the budget prices. I use them a lot. I've even got them fitted to my LC and find them grippy enough. They seem to hook up better than the Pirelli's which were fitted. However on the last MOT on the wife's car the tester mention the rear tyres were out of ovality. I did some research and found a lot of tyres seem to be suffering from this and the Falken's were no different. It appears they don't like the battering they take on our British potholed roads. So if you want them to last try and avoid the holes. Easier said than done round here.

Whilst they may work better on smaller cars, appallingly bad on Omega. Grip is OK, but no stability, to the point of being dangerous. Nice and quiet though.

I can't see why the Omega is any different to any Carlton I've had them fitted to before.  What issues have you had with Stability? As I said I've had much more expensive so called Premium tyres come up short against the Falkens.

I've knowingly driven 2 with Falkens, one on 452 with shagged suspension, so unfair to comment, but impossible to keep straight.  Other was on 912 with perfect suspension - I drove less than a mile down a country lane before refusing to drive further, I couldn't keep it between the verge and the white line. I know these tyres were returned to Dunlop's labs for testing, no fault found. I drove the same car on the same day on the same lane on my tyres, perfect, tight as a ducks backside.

Other local owners who swear by Falkens on their Golfs and TVRs, agree they are poor on the Omega.

How strange. Never had a issue on the Carltons in the past. As the Omega is basically a more modern version of that same platform I wonder what VX changed to make them so tyre twitchy. I must admit my current Elite tends to tram line a little but I put that down to having ridicules sized boots in the first place.
