« on: 31 March 2008, 21:02:49 »

Some ISPs are looking at installing spyware at their end to track your internet usage, the spyware company is called Phorm.

Please read about it here

El Reg

Then contact your ISP to check.

If you are with BT you can use it as a get out

This sounds a little like 'Big Brother' looking over your shoulder.
I assume it must be legal, but one thing it didn't make clear was if we, the customer, could opt out of it.

Only BT consumer ISPs.  And its not spyware, its done at the DNS level.  And those people using other ISPs but chose to use BT DNS servers, beware ;)

Its fair to say all ISPs are actively looking at similar revenue streams, whether or not they publically admit it.  I wouldn't get too worked up over it, there are solutions ;)
