have managed to fix 3 yellow plug displays
« on: 27 March 2012, 01:57:23 »

I have managed to fix 3 MID's at the moment, you need boiling water and a baking tray, soldering iron to take off the pins for clock adjuster, silver foil and an house hold iron and bit of plywood, take apart the display and remove the 3 pins for the clook control adjuster then the screen holder to the case. now remove the screen and back board out of its holder put the screen in the baking try and put the kettel on ( front of screen down side and board up in air, also get iron hot (house hold) now get some silver baking foil and fold it over a few times (3-4), set iron on number 3 put the hot water over the screen and just upto the end of the flex cable for screen to the board  it should stand up and be ok leave it there for abit, take out the screen and board carfuly place on the plywood just to make it flat, now get the folded silver foil and place on the board side of the screen flex. with the iron keep at an angle not flat and go up and down 2 times from one end to other at side more on the board then leave amoment then repeat againg going out abit more at a time should tak 3 to 4 times. then leave to cool down. now use the flat part of the iron and just the tip end of the iron go round in circels from one end to other then back then you are done leave for 10min to cool down then take the silver foil off and put back together should be all working again. done this on a few that i had that the screen were only working around 10-20% now all working 100% hope this helps any one out.
