loss of power when warm
« on: 27 March 2012, 15:10:17 »

Hi all, got a problem with my 02 Omega 2.2dti and can't find an answer anywhere. On start up, it's fine but once the engine warms up my rev counter dies, engine management light comes and i lose loads of power, (limp mode?). The idle is errattic but it will rev upto the redline in neutral no problem and i can hear the turbo spinning. If i pull up to let the engine cool it's fine again but only for a few miles. No smoke from the exhaust and all fluid levels are fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A complete guess as I am not familiar with the ways of the tractor, but crank sensor perhaps?

Getting the engine codes read would be a good starting point. :y

Cheers. Crank sensor was my best guess, just wasn't sure with it being intermittent but it sounds like i'll need a new one from you've all said. Are they easy to replace?
