Facelift headlight removal.
« on: 31 March 2012, 11:22:16 »

Hi All!
Am I right in assuming the easiest way to change a headlight/sidelight bulb is to remove the whole unit from the car and that is achieved by removing the trim underneath it and the two little bolts on the top of the bulkhead  . . . and pulling?  :-\

Removing the headlight to change a bulb is just making work! By the time you've removed the trim, undone the 3 bolts(lower one needs a long 1/4" extension), fiddled about with the wiring, changed the bulb and put it all back together, you might just as well have fiddled the new bulb into place.

yes but if you push on metal sprung clips to hard you may break the headlight adjuster  >:( especially on the main beam part! (like i did!)
if your worried about damaging adjusters remove the units....
if uve got small hands & double jointed long fingers ull be ok by leaving them in....

Nope !    Once you know how, from reading the oof guide, you can get the whole light out of the car in 10 mins max. and do it safely with very limited risk to human or light.

Personally, having had a VERY steep learning curve a while back...I can get them out in less than 5.
