end float in steering box

i had the alignment checked and adjusted ( by a wim authorised tire center ) and the techi advised me of some end float in the steering box i watched as he moved the arm up and down it wasnt excessive but you can hear the movement . is the box adjustable for end float should i worry also power steering seems heavy from time to time any ideas . speedo and abs lights are ok ?

Wonder if adjusting the damper would help that...? :-\ (Torx with lock nut on top of the box)
