Right guys after serious consideration i wanna upgrade my suspension, wheels etc. mine flops to mutch for my like-ing so any inputs welcome on good noticable upgrades on handling and performance for my 2.2dti GLS.

I Know shell never be a ferrari but i do fancy playing around with it so itll atleast play in the corners sometimes

I've had 3 Elites now, 2 standard and the current one which has been modified a bit.

As the Elites were built for comfort and nothing else, they swish and sway well, but the one I've got now has had Irmscher springs and B4 shocks fitted and drives round bends like it's on rails

This wasn't done by me and I'm not technically knowledgable as to what is involved. But it has made a difference in the handling

If you've come from FWD, it may feel too soft, but believe me, non Elites on standard suspension are very, very capable in the corners.

That said, it can be improved - Irmscher springs and either Irmscher shocks, or B4s.  The Irmscher suspension is rarer than rocking horse poo though.

not a lot of people know that...but belive me my hip did bit of a hard ride ....c d a lot softer...

While I've heard nothing but good things about Eibach suspension, and would go that route if I didn't have irmscher springs already, no doubt about it...

...it does suprise me they quote one set of springs for all Engine sizes. 
GM and irmscher offer(ed) different spec springs according to engine size. Estate and saloon variants aside of course.

Polly the front wishbone and roll bar bushes for a marked improvement in steering accuracy. Rear donuts will need replacement if original.

In order of firmness...softest first, face lift only.
Elite
Standard(gls,cd,cdx,)
lowered sports chassis from face lift (mv6, sport 2.2)
Stienmetz and b4
Eibach b4(guess these go here, no experience)
Irmscher b4
Irmscher with irmscher shocks

Bilstein b4 shocks take up to 30mill drop. Would not go lower. There are higher spec Billy's available, but I'd be suprised if the extra expense could be justified

I noticed in the gallery your running 225x55x16's imo that is where your floppy handling is coming from....

I would get some 18" rims running 235x40x18 tyres see how that goes then do the suspension work chris suggested. Evan the standard 235x45x17's are a big improvement over the 16's imo

Not sure it makes that much of a difference, having owned a selection of Omegas with 15", 16", 17" and 18" rims...  ...yes, the lower profile does affect handling, but not by that much - tyre brand plays more of a role IMHO

got to be honest guys, kyb front shocks and spax adjustable rears, with standard springs, the difference is amazing!
and its relatively cheap!! however thats just my opinion!!!
