Samsung galaxy s sd card
« on: 14 April 2012, 14:35:10 »

Can anyone tell me if/how I can move apps to the internal sd. When I try to move them it says that there is insufficient space but I know that isn't true. Thanks.

That may help you Steve.

Thanks John, tried that. It will only let me move stuff to an external sd or tell me which apps can't be moved :(

Yeah, thanks John. Looking through all the forums it appears I need to root my phone. Now I know I'm desperate, but not that rather desperate. ;D

You can't beat a good rooting Steve  ;)

Although your internal SD card has 16GB available, only 2GB of that is the space for installing apps.
I can provide you with a copy of Odin as well as a rooted kernel if you want to flash the phone, alternatively you can uninstall your current apps that are on the external SD, remove the external SD card, then reinstall the apps.

So I've  got to flash at it before I root it. This gets rather worse. :o
TBH Martian, the OP was kind of aimed at you, but I didn't want to be a pain cause I know you've got a lot on your plate. I was really asking, I suppose, to see if I could rather than out of necessity, and I thought you might say "Easy peasy, you just press this button" ;D
Thanks for offering to help though mate, you're a goodun. :y

LOL, no mate...the updated kernel that you flash to the phone will already be rooted and have CWM (Clockwork Mod Recovery) and SU (SuperUser) as part of the package.

Other than uninstalling the apps, removing the external SD card, and then reinstalling them so that the application data is forced to use the internal SD card, rooting is the only other way I'm afraid.
