Finaly managed to get some shed space for my little hobby item and made a start today on cutting out some of the rot etc.

Here is a pic of progress, most of it aluminium (sides etc) but the fronts and rear are steel, hence the need to do a bit of welding!

Yes, 1959 built. we have two cars, 63645, a Driving Motor Composite with lavatory (the one above, basicaly it has two Leyland 680 engines, first class, second class and a bog)

We also have a Driving Motor Brake Second, 53926 (Again, two leyland 680 engines, second class seating and a guards compartment)

So as per my preference, four engines (as opposed to the ones with a trailer which had only two!)

Yes and no.

The roof is all sorted on both cars.

This one requires plating front and rear (sides are aluminium) and the two engiens re-building. Interior needs cleaning (its very good inside), one air reservoir is holed and needs replacing/repairing, dynamo regulator has gone 'walkies' (might build a new one!) and an EP valve needs to be fitted (4th gear).

The other unit requires plating front and rear plus the interior sorting (which we have), both engines are fine though!
