Child hood toys
« on: 02 April 2008, 19:19:40 »

What did you have as a child & so wish you'd kept :question
You can usually find a replacement on ebay etc, but it's never the same :(
There's loads of things i gave away as a teen-anger thinking i don't want these young things any more, but when you get older still, you think i wish i'd kept that  :'(

All the Dinky, Corgi Matchbox toys i had. When i was a kid all i cared about was them & my bike. Every Xmas b'day i was given airfix, spirograph etc that never got used. Also loved Scalextric but always got told off for putting corgi/matchbox cars or lego houses on the track & crashing into them!
Seemed like a good idea to me when i was 7 or 8. :)

I always credit the Meccano set that my dad bought me for my seventh birthday for first promoting my interest in spanner twirling. After numerous warnings off my mum that if I left it all over the floor after playing with it she would "bin the lot" I still did and mum carried out her threat! :o :'(

I saved up for mine & i think it was around £50.00, i had the Porche challenge, one silver & one gold, then i found i could electrocute Woodlice on the track & never looked back  ;D ;D
