i dont know why it is, but the front n/s tyre always needs a few lbs of air when i do a weekly check. i.m not kerbing it, the steerings ok, & iv,e even rotated wheels . but its always that wheel . Ideas anybody

Puncture, valve, or leaking rim.

Take off, put in bath/water butt, leak should be noticible

Same here. I've just had four new tyres fitted and the same wheel still loses a few lbs of air so in my case it must be the rim leaking as TB said as the valve and tyre was discarded. Going in this week and hoping the tyre place can put some sealer around the rim.    Bit of a mystery as the alloys not damaged.

Same here. I've just had four new tyres fitted and the same wheel still loses a few lbs of air so in my case it must be the rim leaking as TB said as the valve and tyre was discarded. Some fastfits don't clean up the rim properly, relying too much on the sealant.

Might be worth pulling the tyre off, cleaning the rim with some fine grade paper and lacquaring the wheel before you put the tyre back on

My question  to you is .. do you always check the wheels in the same manner ?? Possibly starting with the F/N/S every time, and always using the same garage ??

If so it "might" be that the garage gauge is a tad "sticky" until exercised a couple of times and that is the problem ??

I cannot see how the F/N/S can otherwise be affected on its own...

Didn't read it like that until you mentioned it.    OP does appear to say that. At least in my case I know which wheel it is.

i have a digital guage plus its always the same n/s tyre  not only on rotation but when iv,e actually changed wheels for another set i have . baffling me

Did you use the same tyres, or a whole new set of wheels & tyres? Have you tried rotating this set just in case you have two that leak and managed to get them on the same corner (unlikely but not that improbable)?

If it's neither of those things then it's got to be aliens. Or someone is letting your tyre down. Or aliens are letting your tyre down

it must be aliens. in 9yrs , two sets of wheels & 3 sets of tyres its always the front n/s (on a wkly basis) that loses up to 6lbs of pressure. reiterate , not kerbing .& steerings ok.

The only thing I've seen similar to that is on my car, relative to where it's parked up against a garge door at the front and a wall to the left front wheel. After an hour of sunlight the drivers side wheels are warmer, and the pressure goes up .5 to 1 psi. relative to the ambient temp.

Where as the one in the corner by the wall gets no sun, doesn't warm up, and stays stone cold. Some times 2 or 3 psi lower than when tested the day before.

Try nitrogen instead of air...?

Can't explain the range of difference your seeing though. 6psi is too much for that Ime

Although adding the differences might add up to 6psi.

Is it seasonal? Ie less loss in summer with warmer night temps. ?

I get what you are saying ... but ..... if it was temp related .. when he inflated the "cold" low one it would be overpressure when warm, then drop back down to "correct" once it cooled down 

If it is ALWAYS low and gets topped up regularly it must be actually losing air .. and  I see no logical reason ... otherwise it would be the size and pressure of a zeppelin by now !!!
