Its certainly not what it used to be... If it wasn't for the grandkids, I think I would have gone 'down under'. Its certainly a nicer way of life. You will deffo miss it!
Never mind, as you say save like hell and go back.

loads of great memories. Wish I could stay. I have been back to UK on visits to see my girls but apart from seeing them, there is nothing in England for me. From reading posts on here and stories in the papers it appears UK no longer a great place to be?

Not really. What I can't understand is what drugs Brown was taking when he said we don't need to put a cap on immigration.

That said, the rate at which britons are leaving for the sunny climes of Australia, we may as well pack up shop and move our nationality there.

If you are able to go, do it now, unfortunately I left it too late but I had to think of my kids then. Now I'm too old. It is a great country and so big, room to move.

I have been offered a sponsership with a company out there and could go tommorrow if i wanted, it's just such a big decision to make, however as each day goes by it also seems like an easier one  :-/

Try it for a holiday first. where I am on the Gold Coast (Surfers Paradise) suits me. Loads to do places to visit great restaurants and clubs. Beautiful girls. Wide relitively empty (compared to Leeds) roads warm blue sea which was at 25 degrees on Monday, most things are cheaper than UK and the wages have almost caught up. Property at similar prices but usually bigger and with a pool and a cheap V8 on your drive with Petrol at $1.30ish a litre. It is a big move especiaaly if you have lots of friends and family but I made more friends here in a week than I made in a year in England. There are of course quieter places than Surfers and cheaper places. A few months back I saw a house with 30 acres for sale for $17,000. Great if you like the outback.

My brother and also my cousin live in Perth so that is where i would head if i were to go. With luck hollidaying there later in the year to go and get a taste of the place. My mum and dad go next week for three months with a veiw of buying somewhere over there which if they do would make my decision easier still
