Its like a black matchbox with a wire coming up to it from beneath the dash

But i got built in sat nav  So this box has nothing to do with the built in sat nav ? And i can get rid of it .

Hmm ? Think ill delve deeper and try and trace where the wire leads to , no trace of any aftermarket stuff being fitted 

Swmbo pointed it out and said whats that you have installed "a camera"  I just said eerm yeah its a gizmo for the sensors

Its the aerial for the Carin (Philips) sat nav , fitted by GM . I have one on my dashboard too,  car is 1997 mini facelift 3.0 Elite.

Normally it's not visible so it may be the Carin was retro-fitted or playing up and a replacement sensor fitted

Tucked under the parcel shelf rings a bell but I could be wrong

I know it wasn't visible on my MFL Saloon
